Activation list - suggestion

Hi ADN Team,
The activation layer improvement is great. Layering in much easier now.

May I just suggest that you add a line of information to the activation list that would contain the name of the sensor that is linked to the muscle.
That would be great and easier to keep track of layers

Also we need an option to reorder the list. What if I decided to add an operation after the first first activation layer to lower the value for example, like what Marco did in the Arm Setup tutorial but I didn’t realize that I need that until I created tow or three activation layers.
I think reordering the list would be very useful.

Thank you

Hi Samah, thanks for your feedback, surely you raised some interesting points.

Allow me to describe my approach, which will hopefully show why we have not implemented specific UX elements to address those two items.

  1. To know which node and attribute is connected to an activation layer I right-click on the activation value (which should be colored in yellow). The context menu will pop up, showing the name of the connected node and attribute. This also has the advantage of allowing me to click on the entry in the menu to rapidly select the connected node.
  2. To rearrange activation layers I do that by selecting the solver node, open the node editor (limiting the graph to just one connection to make it easier to see) and reorder the connections directly. I feel that this is an approach that is more in line with current practices rigging and CFX.

I think that this approach makes the differences between Maya and Houdini less noticeable, especially making cross-dcc workflows easier to manage.
