We have just released AdonisFX 2.0.1, a patch release that addresses an issue affecting solver time stepping when evaluating fractional frame changes.
In previous versions, when the evaluated frame change was fractional, solvers incorrectly defaulted to simulating with a single positive time step. This has now been fixed.
With this update, simulations will automatically pick the correct time step, making behavior almost identical whether you are working with whole frames or subframes. There is no need to adjust any settings, change parameters, or update existing scenes manually. Just install the patch and continue working as usual.
The patch is available on our website for the same platforms and DCC versions as the 2.0.0 release: Windows/Linux; Houdini 20.0, 20.5, and 21.0; and Maya 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026.
We recommend updating to 2.0.1 if you are using subframes or any workflow where fractional frame evaluation is involved.
Thank you!
